"I don't know, it's hard to explain sometimes. Those sort of things in football sometimes, you can play at a place like Wembley and be exceptional at every game but at the moment we haven't had that since playing at Wembley. We've had the odd occasion and the odd first half or second half where we've played some good football but we need to make it our home and at the moment I don't think we've done that yet. But I think we've proved what a team we are, and a good team and good players we are away from home; now it's time to do it at home."

"I think at the end of the day I've been to different clubs and played in different countries and I've been happy to have done that and I feel honoured to have played for the clubs and played with some of the players that I've played with. But this is one of the biggest highlights of my career, to still be in this team, almost 34-years-old and be on 108 caps is something special for me."

"I know it sounds a cliche but there are no easy games in football these days, so it will be a tough game, we will do a lot of homework on them before that game but we haven't done anything yet because we've got a game on Saturday which we're concentrating on first. I'm sure Sunday the preparation will start for Ukraine but they're definitely a team with a lot of dangerous players."

11. BECKHAM LEAVES NEWS CONFERENCE

STORY: David Beckham said on Thursday (March 26) his move to AC Milan had improved his fitness and called on his England team mates to improve their form at their home stadium, Wembley.

The 33-year-old recently extended his loan deal with the Italian club from U.S. side LA Galaxy until the end of the season.

Speaking at England's hotel near London, Beckham said of his move to Milan: "I think it's improved my fitness more than anything else because I said when I first arrived in Dubai with Milan my body fat (body mass index) was 13.7 (percent) and now it's 8.5 I think, so I think it was more about the fitness side than anything else, but obviously I've had to adjust my game to the Italian game as well."

Beckham is set to win his 109th cap in Saturday's (March 28) friendly against Slovakia or next Wednesday's (April 1) World Cup qualifier against Ukraine, overtaking the record for an outfield player he shares with the late Bobby Moore.

Both England games are at Wembley, where Beckham is guaranteed a warm welcome but accepts England have yet to hit the heights at the rebuilt stadium. They are currently ranked ninth in the world and lead their World Cup 2010 qualifying group with a 100 per cent record in their four matches so far.

"We've had the odd occasion and the odd first half or second half where we've played some good football but we need to make it our home and at the moment I don't think we've done that. But I think we've proved what a team we are, and a good team and good players we are away from home; now it's time to do it at home," he said.

Speaking about the prospect of getting his 109th cap he added: "This is one of the biggest highlights of my career, to still be in this team, almost 34-years-old and be on 108 caps is something special for me."

Looking ahead to the match against Ukraine Beckham said: "I know it sounds a cliche but there are no easy games in football these days, so it will be a tough game...they're definitely a team with a lot of dangerous players."
