CLIP FROM "THE PASSION OF CHRIST" STORY: Director Quentin Tarantino brought his eagerly awaited World War Two movie "Inglourious Basterds" to the Cannes film festival. The film's lead, Brad Pitt and girlfriend Angelina Jolie added some star power to the red carpet, waving to fans who waited hours to catch a glimpse of the superstar couple. Tarantino, a favorite at the festival won the coveted Palme d'Or in 1994 with "Pulp Fiction", and rushed to have his latest movie ready in time to present to the jury. It has been in the works for more than 10 years. Michael Jackson has delayed the opening four nights of his "This Is It" tour at London's O2 arena. Concert promoters said the delay was not health related and necessary because the singer needed more time for dress rehearsals. The first show, on July 8th, has been pushed back by five nights. Three other July dates will not take place until March 2010. A victory for Woody Allen. The director reached a settlement for 5 million dollars (USD) in his lawsuit against clothing retailer American Apparel. Allen sued the clothing company more than a year ago after his image appeared on billboards in New York and Los Angeles. Allen says his reputation was damaged and his image was used without his consent. Mel Gibson is making news on several fronts. First, his girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva is reportedly pregnant. The online celebrity website TMZ.com says that Oksana is in her second trimester and that Gibson has already told his estranged wife about it. Robyn Gibson filed for divorce back in April. And secondly, Gibson has settled a lawsuit relating back to his film "The Passion of Christ". Gibson was being sued for underpaying the film's screenwriter. |
